Why Benidorm is unmatched for entertainment

There is no other resort on the Spanish coast — arguably no other resort in Europe — that programmes as much live entertainment as Benidorm. On a typical midweek evening more than 80 different shows run simultaneously across the Old Town, the British strip and the Levante front. On a busy weekend in summer that number doubles. And almost all of it — bar tributes, live singers, cabaret rooms, comedy nights, drag shows, DJ sets — is completely free walk-in entry.

That density is the single fact that explains everything else about Benidorm nightlife. Acts work the resort in tight circuits, building reputations across dozens of venues. Bars compete on the quality of the booking, not the door price. Holidaymakers can roam from a Queen tribute at 8pm to a drag cabaret at 11pm to a late club at 2am without spending more than the cost of their drinks. Long-stayers — the UK, Irish and Dutch regulars who come for four to twelve weeks every winter — drive a depth of programming most resorts can only sustain during peak season.

The four pillars of Benidorm entertainment

    Tribute acts

The biggest single category and the genre Benidorm is most famous for. Tributes to ABBA, Queen, Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Adele, Olly Murs, Harry Styles, Take That, George Michael, Robbie Williams and dozens more run nightly across the resort, usually starting between 8pm and 10pm and running for two sets. The bigger production tributes — full costume, multiple cast, live band — play the larger show bars on the strip; intimate one-singer tributes fill smaller rooms and seafront terraces.

See the live tribute acts in Benidorm tonight page for tonight's full schedule, or the tribute artists A–Z for every act we track. A handful of named productions have their own dedicated pages — the Harry Styles tribute, Tina Turner fire show, Star Wars tribute and Sticky Vicky family legacy among them.

    Live bands & solo singers

Between tribute sets the resort fills with solo singers, duos, full party bands and acoustic acts. The Old Town is best for live Spanish acoustic music — flamenco guitarists, jazz combos, Spanish vocalists. The Levante front leans into open-air singers performing standards and crooner classics. The British strip carries full party bands belting out pop, rock and dance hits to packed terraces. See the live live bands & singers directory for tonight's options.

    Cabaret, comedy & shows

Benidorm's cabaret scene runs from intimate 80-seat rooms (drag cabaret, stand-up comedy, magic, variety) all the way up to the flagship ticketed production at Benidorm Palace — a full Vegas-style spectacular with dinner package that has been running for over fifty years and remains the single best-known show in the resort. Comedy clubs run nightly on the strip, most free entry. Drag cabaret has grown into one of Benidorm's standout scenes — see tonight's adult shows for the latest line-up. DJs & late clubs

From mid-evening DJ sets in show bars through to dedicated nightclubs on the strip, Benidorm's dance floor option runs until 5am at weekends. The biggest rooms — Insomnia, KU, Penelope — host international touring DJs in summer and resident sets through winter. The strip's smaller venues build their own followings around specific genres (chart, R&B, retro). How to choose where to base yourself

Benidorm splits into four distinct entertainment zones. Picking the right one for your trip matters more than picking the right hotel — you can move hotels, you cannot move the strip.

    • Rincón de Loix (British strip) — the loudest, busiest and most concentrated tribute and cabaret scene. Bars run shoulder-to-shoulder for a kilometre. Best for stag and hen groups, big mixed parties, full-on party nights and anyone who wants ten different shows within a 200-metre walk.
    • Levante seafront — open-air seafront bars, dinner-with-show terraces, mid-volume live singers. Best for couples and families who still want a lively evening, and for anyone who prefers cocktails on a terrace over pints in a show bar.
    • Old Town (Casco Antiguo) — tapas streets, Spanish bars, live acoustic music, quieter. Best for couples and over-50s who want atmosphere and authenticity over volume. See the Tapas Alley guide.
    • Levante back streets (around the Square) — Benidorm's LGBTQ+ scene, drag cabaret, late bars and clubs. One of the most welcoming gay nightlife scenes in mainland Spain, running year-round.

    Free vs ticketed

Almost everything in Benidorm is free walk-in. You pay for drinks at the bar; there is no door fee, no minimum spend and no booking system for the vast majority of shows. The main ticketed exceptions are Benidorm Palace, a handful of large summer festival nights (Low Festival, Iconic Festival, beach concerts) and occasional headline-name gigs. The free side of the resort gets its own dedicated page — free entertainment in Benidorm tonight — which is by far the largest single category of shows on this site.

    When to come

Benidorm runs a full entertainment programme 365 nights a year. Summer (June–September) is at maximum scale, with open-air stages, beach concerts and festival weekends. Winter (October–April) is the long-stay season, with a deeper, more consistent nightly cabaret programme aimed at four- to eight-week regulars. The shoulder seasons (May and October) are arguably the best value — full summer programming, mild weather, half the crowd. Beyond the shows — eating, drinking and getting around

A Benidorm night out is rarely just a show. The resort is built around the full evening: dinner, drinks, show, late drinks, taxi home. A few pages help plan the surrounding pieces — the cheapest pint in Benidorm, rooftop bars, best pizza, Italian restaurants, Indian restaurants and taxi guide. For arrivals, our Alicante airport and airport bus pages cover the basics.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the best entertainment in Benidorm?

Tribute acts are Benidorm's signature entertainment — more tribute shows run here in a week than anywhere else in Europe, almost all free walk-in. Beyond that, the resort has a strong cabaret scene (with Benidorm Palace as the headline ticketed Vegas-style production), nightly live bands and solo singers, comedy clubs, drag cabaret, late DJ nights and a packed festival calendar in summer.

Is most entertainment in Benidorm free?

Yes — the overwhelming majority of bar tribute acts, live singers and cabaret shows are free walk-in entry. You pay for drinks at the bar, not at the door, and there is no minimum spend. Ticketed productions (chiefly Benidorm Palace, a few summer festival nights and occasional headline gigs) typically charge €40–€60.

Where is most of the entertainment located in Benidorm?

Three main areas. The Rincón de Loix (the British strip) carries the highest volume of tribute and cabaret bars and is the loudest, busiest part of the resort. The Levante seafront mixes open-air dinner-shows with cocktail bars and live singers. The Old Town (Casco Antiguo) is best for live Spanish acoustic music, tapas-and-music evenings and a calmer atmosphere.

What time does entertainment start in Benidorm?

Most bar shows start between 7pm and 10pm local Spanish time, with two sets typical for tribute acts. Benidorm Palace runs from around 8:30pm with dinner from 7:30pm. Spain runs one hour ahead of UK time. Late cabaret, drag rooms and clubs run until 2–5am at weekends.

    Is Benidorm entertainment year-round?

Yes. The summer programme (June–September) is at maximum scale with open-air stages, beach concerts and festival weekends. The winter long-stay season (October–April) keeps a full nightly cabaret programme aimed at four- to eight-week regulars from the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands.

Where do I find tonight's line-up in Benidorm?

Our tonight pages show every confirmed show, pulled live from venue schedules and refreshed daily — start with what's on tonight in Benidorm, then filter to tribute acts, free shows, adults-only or couples picks.

Can I plan a whole Benidorm trip from this site?

Yes — use the 2026 year hub and monthly pages to pick your dates, the venue pages to choose where to base yourself, and the tonight pages to plan each evening once you're in the resort.

    Is Benidorm entertainment family-friendly?

Earlier shows (before 9pm) at family bars, the seafront and Benidorm Palace are generally suitable for children. Late-night adult cabaret, drag rooms and comedy clubs are clearly marked as adults-only on each event page. Several large hotels also run their own in-house family entertainment programme.

How much should I budget for a night out in Benidorm?

A pint on the British strip is typically €2.50–€4, cocktails €5–€8, and most tribute and cabaret shows are free entry. A full Benidorm Palace dinner-and-show package is around €60–€80 per person. Compared to most European resorts, a Benidorm night out is exceptional value.

Do tribute acts in Benidorm match the originals?

The best Benidorm tributes — particularly the ABBA, Queen, Tina Turner, Rod Stewart and Take That acts on the bigger stages — are full-production shows with costume changes, live vocals and tight backing tracks. Quality varies bar-to-bar; the venue page for each show notes the act's regular billing.

What about live music in the Old Town?

The Old Town squares (Plaza de la Constitución, around Calle Santo Domingo, the tapas alley) host nightly Spanish acoustic duos, flamenco guitarists and small jazz combos from late spring through October. It's the calmest, most authentically Spanish side of the resort's nightlife.

    How accurate are these listings?

Listings are pulled directly from each venue's own published line-up and refreshed every single day. Cancellations and swaps happen — Benidorm runs on holiday time — but updates land within hours of the venue posting them.
