    About Insomnia Benidorm

Insomnia has rebuilt itself over the last few seasons into Benidorm's most ambitious electronic music venue. It sits on Calle Gerona — the heart of the British strip in the Rincón de Loix — but books an internationally focused line-up that pulls a mixed Spanish, British and European crowd. Think big-room house, tech-house, melodic techno and hardstyle, rather than the UK-chart playlist most of the strip runs. If you've been to Insomnia Ibiza, Hï or Amnesia and want the closest Costa Blanca equivalent, this is it.

The main room is fitted out with festival-grade sound, a high-output light rig, CO₂ jets, lasers and an LED-wrapped DJ booth. Themed parties run on a rolling calendar — Wonderland, Live DJ Experience, Tropical, Neon, Foam Party — and the bigger guest-DJ dates (Blasterjaxx, Bassjackers, Alexander Merlin, Luca Testa, Isabela Clerc) reliably sell out online a week or two in advance. Capacity sits around 1,200, but it feels busiest after 1.30am once the bar crowd from Calle Mallorca and Calle Lepanto rolls in.

Insomnia is one of the few Benidorm clubs that actually programmes a season — from late April through October every night of the week has a defined concept rather than a generic "club night". Sunday is usually a lighter house / pool-party vibe, mid-week leans tech-house and themed, and Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for the international headliners. It's also one of the only clubs in town that runs until 5am every single night, including Sundays — most strip bars and clubs taper off by 3am midweek.

    Vibe, sound & light show

The sound system is a Funktion-One-style stack tuned by a resident engineer — loud but clean, with sub-bass that you feel through the floor rather than a muddy wall of noise. The light rig is one of the biggest in Benidorm: moving heads, blinders, strobes, lasers and a full LED back-wall behind the booth. CO₂ jets fire on drops, and on themed nights you'll get confetti cannons, foam, and on Tropical nights inflatable beach toys flying over the dance-floor.

The crowd is genuinely mixed — locals, holidaymakers, hen and stag groups, EDM heads from Valencia and Alicante on the weekend coach trips. Dress is smart-casual but nobody's checking for designer labels; trainers and a clean shirt will see you in fine. Atmosphere peaks between 1.30am and 4am.

What a typical night at Insomnia looks like

    1. 11.30pm — Doors open. Empty for the first hour; great if you want to bag a good spot at the bar or a VIP booth.
    2. 12.00–01.00 — Warm-up DJ plays house and tech-house. Drink prices are flat (no early-bird discounts).
    3. 01.00–02.00 — Room fills up as the bars on Calle Mallorca close their main rush. Headliner usually opens around 1.30am.
    4. 02.00–04.00 — Peak time. CO₂, lasers, full light show. This is when you queue for the bar.
    5. 04.00–05.00 — Closing set from the residents. Quieter and easier to dance properly.
    6. 05.00 — Lights up. Taxis line up outside on Calle Gerona; expect a 10-minute wait at peak.

    Drink prices inside

Insomnia is more expensive than the strip bars but in line with other major European clubs. Indicative 2026 prices:

    • Bottle of beer (Mahou / Heineken): €6–€7
    • Spirit + mixer (vodka-Red Bull, gin-tonic): €10–€12
    • Premium spirit (Grey Goose, Hendrick's): €13–€15
    • Cocktail (mojito, espresso martini): €11–€13
    • Bottle service (vodka 70cl + mixers, table): from €180
    • Magnum / champagne bottle: from €250

Card and contactless (Apple Pay / Google Pay) accepted at every bar — no cash surcharge. ATMs nearby on Calle Mallorca if you prefer cash.

    Where to pre-drink near Insomnia

Calle Gerona is two minutes from the cheapest bar zone in Benidorm. Most regulars stay out until midnight in the British bars then walk over for the club. Good pre-drink stops:

    • Tropical Bar (Calle Gerona) — tribute acts and €2–€3 pints.
    • Sinatra's (Avenida Mallorca) — late live music, 2-for-1 spirits.
    • Talk of the Coast — biggest tribute venue on the strip.
    • Tapas Alley (Calle Santa Faz, Old Town) — quieter Spanish vibe before the strip rush.
