Where to eat seafood in Benidorm
The densest run of seafood restaurants is in the Old Town: along Paseo Colón by the fishing port and on Paseo de la Carretera, the shopping street that leads down to it. Levante has an Andalusian fried-fish house, the Poniente seafront has upmarket rice and shellfish restaurants, and two of the best-value places are a walk inland.

The port and the Old Town
Seafood by the port is Benidorm's classic lunch, and the busiest places fill up from about 14:00. Book where you can.
Restaurante Marisquería El Puerto, Paseo Colón
Marisquería El Puerto sits right by the harbour at Paseo Colón 1. Reviewers praise the seafood salad and grilled squid, and the menu covers paella, prawns, octopus and cuttlefish. GastroRanking describes it as not expensive, often full and best booked. See our Restaurante El Puerto page for more.
Marisquería Córdoba, Paseo de la Carretera
Marisquería Córdoba has more than 9,000 Google reviews (8.8) and a 9 on TripAdvisor. It sells seafood by the kilo, and a July 2025 Salir guide lists the mariscada variada (clams, prawns, red prawns, razor clams and lobster) at €55 per kilo. Reviewers recommend the paellas, including lobster paella, and the large terrace. Book.
La Mejillonera, Paseo de la Carretera
La Mejillonera has been serving mussels since 1981 and has nearly 10,000 Google reviews. Mussels come steamed, in all i pebre, stuffed with béchamel, with salsa rosa, in green sauce or as tigres, and a reviewer paid €5 for a quarter ration. The main bar takes no bookings and closes on Tuesdays; book its arrocería for paella. Queues are normal.
Fried fish and the fishmonger-restaurant
Fried fish (fritura or pescaíto frito) is the cheapest way to eat seafood in Benidorm, and choosing your own seafood at a fishmonger's counter is the freshest.
Las Gaviotas, Calle Esperanto
Las Gaviotas is one of six Benidorm restaurants with a Guía Repsol Solete, priced at under €35 a head. Repsol recommends the fritura of pescadilla (whiting), gambón, calamares, boquerones and mejillón tigre, with bread and alioli. Salir lists the fritura mixta from €11.20. It is in Levante, a few minutes from the beach.
La Gambita de Benidorm, Calle Tomás Ortuño
La Gambita is a fishmonger with a kitchen: you buy seafood at the counter and it is cooked for you. Red prawns and grilled lobster are the most requested, according to Centauro. Salir's 2025 prices include mussels at €3.80 per kilo and Galician clams at €17.80 per kilo. It is inland, so take a taxi or bus.
Freiduría Los Peces, Calle Goya
Freiduría Los Peces, near the Guillermo Amor stadium, is a local fried-fish house that scores 8.8 on TripAdvisor. Reviewers recommend the calamares, adobo (marinated dogfish) and chopitos, and praise generous portions and easy parking.
Seafront splurges on Poniente
For shellfish with a sea view, Ulía on Avenida Vicente Llorca Alós is the best-known name on the Poniente promenade. Salir lists quisquillas, cigalas or prawns at €15 per 100 g, razor clams at €2.90 each and oysters at €3.90. Expect about €60 a head with wine, and book ahead.
Also on the seafront, La Posada del Mar on Paseo Colón serves paella, fideuà and arroz a banda at prices GastroRanking describes as average.
Fish markets and buying your own
Benidorm has no fish auction open to visitors. To see the catch come in, go to Calp, where the Llotja fish auction in the fishing port runs from 17:00 in the fishing season (not January, September or December). Visitors watch on screens upstairs for €1; see our Calpe day trip guide.
In town, the covered Mercado Municipal has fish counters if you are self-catering, and La Gambita sells fresh seafood to take away as well as to eat in.
- Per-kilo prices (precio por kilo, or S/M for según mercado) depend on weight. Ask for the weight before it is cooked.
- Bread, alioli and olives brought to the table may be charged.
- For drinks prices and a typical seafood bill, see our Benidorm prices guide.
