Low Festival in Benidorm: 2008–2025
Low Festival started in Benidorm in 2008 under the name Low Cost Festival, built on cheap tickets and a sustainability message. In 2012 it won an Industry Green star for its environmental measures (Abahana Villas).
For most of its life it ran over the last weekend of July at the Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor, the sports city on Avenida Ciudad Deportiva. The line-up mixed Spanish indie headliners with international acts, usually more than 70 artists over three days (Comunitat Valenciana tourism).
The last Benidorm edition, from 25 to 27 July 2025, was its 15th anniversary. The council reported more than 65,000 attendees across the three days (Benidorm council).
Why Low Festival left Benidorm
When the 2025 festival ended, organisers announced 2026 dates and expected to return. They did not. According to El Español, a conflict between the festival and the new concessionaire running the Guillermo Amor site led it to look for a new home elsewhere in Alicante province. Torrevieja won, and offered registered local residents a 50% ticket discount.
