Beach bars in Benidorm

Benidorm's beach bars line the seafront roads behind Levante beach, with smaller clusters near the Old Town and along Poniente. On Levante, Avinguda Alcoi runs along the western half of the beach and Avenida de Madrid continues east towards the Rincón de Loix.

They are bars with terraces looking over the sand, rather than shacks on the beach. Spain's coastal law and its regulation cap the size of food and drink kiosks on beaches and set minimum distances between them, so Benidorm's busy seafront is served mainly from the promenade. Two bars carry most of the seafront live music in our listings. Several others are well known for a sea view and a drink.

Further east, the beach bars get more relaxed. Tiki Beach at Avenida de Madrid 14 is listed as open 10:00–01:00 with burgers, pizza and fish and chips, and Oasis Beach Club at Avenida de Madrid 30 opens from 09:30. The Rose and Crown is a beachfront pub under the Torre Principado with karaoke and sport.

At the other end of Levante, Tiki Town Beach Club is on Calle Valencia 1, just east of the Old Town.

Beach-bar music runs earlier than the show bars inland. In our listings, many seafront sets started between 12:00 and 19:00, compared with a 21:00–23:00 peak across Benidorm as a whole. Regional opening-hours rules limit live music in cafés and restaurants to the daytime, ending at 22:00, while venues with a pub licence can go later. Check each bar's listing for its evening programme.

The bar terrace and the sand follow different rules. You can drink on a licensed terrace, but Benidorm's beach ordinance bans drinking alcohol on the beach and bringing glass onto it, with fines of up to €750 for drinking and €751–1,500 for leaving glass.

Seafront bars charge for the view, and prices vary widely along the front. One hen-party guide quoted €4 cocktails and €2 pints at a beach bar, but treat any price as a starting point and check the board.
