    3,000 m² Pirates' Adventure

Magic Tropical Splash is a next-generation family resort in Cala de Finestrat, roughly 6 km from the centre of Benidorm and just 600 m from Cala de la Cala beach. The whole property is built around a pirate theme, with more than 10,000 m² of outdoor space, apartment-style accommodation and one of the largest on-site water parks of any hotel on the Costa Blanca.

The signature feature is 'Pirates' Adventure' — a 3,000 m² water park with six slides, a Waterplay zone, a Children's Splash and an enormous pirate ship over 10 metres long that the whole complex is themed around. Combined with a 1,000 m² lagoon-style swimming pool, an adults-only jacuzzi zone, a full spa, a gym and a 300 m² Magic Game Experience arcade, it is a genuine 'never need to leave the resort' hotel for families and multigenerational groups.

Pirates' Adventure — the on-site water park

The reason most families book Magic Tropical Splash is the on-site water park. 'Pirates' Adventure' spans more than 3,000 m² and is included with every stay — no separate tickets, no extra entry fees. There are six slides for older children and adults, a shallow Children's Splash zone for toddlers, an interactive Waterplay area, and a full-scale pirate ship over 10 m long as the centrepiece.

Around it sits 'Pirates' Land', a themed dry play area where the animation team runs treasure hunts, pirate story-time and daytime games. If your children are between 4 and 12, this is effectively a mini-Aqualandia at the bottom of the lift — and it stays open the entire main season.

Main pool, jacuzzi zone and solarium

Separate from the water park is the resort's tropical main pool — a lagoon-style pool of around 1,000 m² surrounded by palms, sun loungers and Balinese-style shade. It is genuinely large enough to swim in, and depth grades gently for less-confident swimmers.

An adults-only jacuzzi and solarium zone sits alongside the main pool, giving parents and couples somewhere quieter to escape while the children stay in the water park. Sun loungers are free and there is enough space that grabbing one at 10am is never a stressful mission.

Apartments — the freedom of self-catering with hotel service

Magic Tropical Splash is technically an apart-hotel, and this is the second big reason families book it. Accommodation is arranged as apartments with up to three separate bedrooms, a lounge/dining area, kitchenette and a private terrace with large windows — meaning parents and children genuinely have their own space, and larger groups can travel together without booking three hotel rooms.

You still get full hotel service: daily housekeeping, 24-hour reception, on-site restaurants and bars. It's the balance the property is deliberately designed around — the freedom of an apartment with the comfort and food of a resort hotel.

    Restaurants, buffets and snack bars

Food at Magic Tropical Splash is delivered across multiple formats rather than a single dining room. The main buffet restaurant runs breakfast, lunch and dinner with live-cooking stations, themed nights and a wide dessert selection. A pirate-themed à la carte restaurant with hanging sail canopies is used for evening themed dinners and occasional shows.

Around the pools and water park there are additional snack bars serving fresh burgers, pizza, salads and ice cream through the day, plus top international drink brands at the main bars. Half board, full board and all-inclusive packages are all available.

Magic Game Experience, spa and gym

One of the resort's more unusual features is Magic Game Experience — a 300 m² indoor entertainment room with the latest arcade video games, pool tables, air hockey and a virtual-reality zone. It's designed as a rainy-day and evening backup for families, and older children and teenagers spend a large chunk of the week here.

For parents the resort also runs a full spa with treatment rooms and a well-equipped gym, so adult downtime is baked into the property rather than being an afterthought. The whole hotel carries Bioscore environmental certification for its sustainability programme.

Location — Cala de Finestrat vs central Benidorm

Magic Tropical Splash sits in Cala de Finestrat, a residential and low-rise area just around the headland from central Benidorm. Cala de la Cala beach is around 600 m away — a small, sheltered cove that is calmer and more family-friendly than Levante. The centre of Benidorm is 4–6 km away depending on where you're heading, and a taxi into the Levante strip runs €10–€12.

For guests who want to be self-contained during the day and dip into central Benidorm for the odd tribute-act evening, the location works extremely well. If your priority is walking straight onto the Calle Gerona strip every night, a hotel inside the Rincón de Loix will suit you better.
