April is when Benidorm becomes properly summery — long light evenings, the first genuine sea swims, water parks reopening, and Easter processions bringing tradition to the Old Town.
It's the year's first busy period. Easter week always fills the family hotels and lifts flight prices, but the shoulder days either side of Easter are still excellent value with the same weather.
What was April 2025 actually like in Benidorm?
April 2025 was warm but the wettest of the last five, with a stubborn low-pressure system parking off Valencia in the second week and dropping 45mm of rain in three days. Easter Sunday (20 April) recovered to a sunny 24°C and packed the beaches.

First week can still surprise you with a chilly evening — 18–20°C afternoons.

Easter week (dates move) is the year's first big influx. Hotels and flights spike sharply.

Consistently 22–25°C afternoons and the first genuine sea-swim conditions of the year.
What to wear in Benidorm in April
Shorts and T-shirts every day. Take a light jumper for evenings on the promenade or in the Old Town.

Crowds and prices in April
Easter is the year's first premium period — flights and hotels shoot up for the week regardless of when Easter falls. The two weeks either side of Easter are much better value.

Semana Santa processions
Solemn Easter processions wind through the Old Town on Good Friday and Easter Sunday morning.
First beach days
Lifeguards cover the main beaches all year, with the full summer service from 1 June.

Events and fiestas in Benidorm in April
Semana Santa (Holy Week) processions bring floats, brass bands and hooded penitents through the Old Town. Sant Jordi (23 April) sees books and roses on Old Town street stalls.
What to do in Benidorm if it rains in April
Benidorm Palace, the free Museu Boca del Calvari, afternoon shows in the Rincón de Loix bars and a TRAM trip to Alicante's castle and market all work on a wet day.
Benidorm April — the deeper picture
April is the meteorological transition month. Early-April Atlantic weather can still send showers over the Costa Blanca — the wettest week of Benidorm's whole year can occasionally land in mid-April. But by month-end the summer high-pressure pattern is usually anchored, delivering the settled 24°C blue-sky days that define May onwards.
Compared to the UK: UK Aprils average 11–14°C. Benidorm's 22°C feels like a proper summer preview after a British winter.
