September is the month regulars talk about in reverent tones. You get essentially August weather — 29°C, 25°C sea, nine hours of sun — but with British and Spanish schools back, the resort is dramatically quieter and noticeably cheaper.
It's the year's second sweet spot after May, and arguably the better of the two because the sea is now at its warmest.

September 2025 was warm and largely dry — the first three weeks stayed above 28°C with a brief mid-month blip to 32°C. A DANA weather system arrived on the 24th and dropped 40mm of rain in a single afternoon before clearing to a bright, warm final week.

DANA storms in late September can be intense but usually clear within a day. The Palace, indoor market, malls and aquarium all cover you.
Benidorm September — the deeper picture
September's headline weather risk is the DANA (Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos) — a slow-moving high-altitude low that can dump the equivalent of a month's rain in a few hours. It's a Costa Blanca autumn signature and typically hits in late September or October. Storms are dramatic but usually clear within 24 hours, leaving warm, bright weather behind.
Compared to the UK: UK September averages 17–19°C — Benidorm's 29°C is a full 10°C warmer with vastly more sun.
