Rincón de Loix, Benidorm

The Rincón de Loix is the eastern end of Benidorm, rising back from the far end of Levante beach, and it is the part of town most British visitors mean when they talk about a Benidorm night out. Avenida Dr. Severo Ochoa, Calle Lepanto, Avenida de Filipinas and the Square on Avenida de Mallorca are lined with show bars, British pubs, karaoke rooms and late clubs.

By day the area is all hotels, pools and full English breakfasts on terraces. From early evening the bars start their programmes: family-friendly singers first, then the headline tributes between 21:00 and 23:00, and after midnight the Square takes over with late cabaret and clubs such as Cafe Benidorm that stay open until breakfast.

The appeal is density. The Red Lion, Tropical Bar, Sinatras, Philippines 10 and Uncle Peds are all within a short walk, so you can see three or four acts in a night without a taxi. Prices are among the cheapest in the resort, and almost everything is free entry with drinks bought at the bar.

It is also where the ITV series Benidorm was filmed — the Sol Pelicanos Ocas, the real Solana, is here. If you want peace and quiet, stay further up the hill; if you want to be in the middle of it, stay near Severo Ochoa.
