Benidorm Show Calendar

Autumn shoulder & long-stay opener. October is the start of the second Benidorm season. The long-stay regulars start to arrive, golf groups multiply, and the cabaret calendar quietly rebuilds itself with the acts that will carry the resort through winter.

Cabaret bars settle into their winter line-ups — the tribute acts you'll see in January start their residencies in October. Halloween at the end of the month is a huge night across the British strip with most venues running themed shows. Benidorm Pride takes place across an extended weekend in early October, bringing thousands of LGBTQ+ visitors and a packed programme of parties, parades and live-stage events around Plaza Triangular.

Long-stay season opens. November is when the long-stay winter season properly begins. Hotels move onto winter rates, the resort fills again with Brits, Irish and Scandinavians on multi-week stays, and the cabaret programme is at its broadest of the year.

Practically every show bar and hotel theatre runs a full nightly programme of tributes, party bands, vocal harmony duos and comedy showmen. The Benidorm Fiesta (a four-day Saga/long-stay festival) takes over a large chunk of the British strip in mid-November with parades, live bands and themed nights. Bonfire Night sees most British bars run firework specials and themed evenings.

Winter sun & Christmas season. December turns Benidorm into one of Europe's brightest Christmas destinations. Lights go up across the Old Town and seafront, the cabaret calendar runs Christmas specials almost every night, and long-stayers settle in for what many call the best Christmas of their lives.

Christmas Day lunches, Boxing Day shows, New Year's Eve galas, Three Kings warm-up parades — December's calendar is genuinely relentless. Tribute acts run festive set-lists, cabaret bars run themed party nights, and Benidorm Palace runs a special seasonal production. New Year's Eve (Nochevieja) is one of the biggest single nights of the year, with Spanish families gathering on Plaza SS.MM. los Reyes de España to eat the twelve grapes at midnight.

Winter sun & long-stay season. January is Benidorm's long-stay capital. The resort fills with retired Brits, Irish and northern Europeans escaping the cold for four-, six- and eight-week stays, and the entertainment scene quietly becomes one of the strongest of the entire year.

Almost every cabaret bar, show pub and hotel theatre runs a full nightly programme through January — tribute acts, party bands, vocal harmony duos, magicians and comedy showmen all working hard to keep regulars coming back four or five nights a week. The competition for the long-stay crowd is brutal, which means the standard of acts in January is genuinely higher than in many summer months. Sunday roasts, afternoon karaoke and tea-dance matinees are also at their peak.

Winter sun & Valentine's break. February is when Benidorm's winter rhythm hits its smoothest stride. Long-stayers know every barman by name, tribute acts have settled into long residencies, and the resort feels relaxed, sociable and surprisingly busy after dark.

Expect a full slate of tribute nights — Take That, ABBA, Tina Turner, Elvis, Rod Stewart and Queen are perennial February favourites — alongside Motown revues, country & western nights and a wave of Valentine's specials in the second week. Larger venues add candle-lit dinner shows and themed party nights. Daytime entertainment is unusually strong, with cabaret matinees, quiz afternoons and bingo running across most show bars.

Spring shoulder season. March is the changeover month. Long-stay winter regulars start to fly home, weekend breakers and stag/hen groups start to arrive, and the calendar gets noticeably busier in the second half of the month as Easter approaches.

The cabaret programme stays strong throughout March, with most venues adding extra nights to cope with weekend arrivals. St Patrick's Day on the 17th turns the British strip and the Irish bars into one long green party — expect live trad sessions, Guinness specials and tribute bands switching to Irish set-lists for the night. Easter week (whichever fortnight it lands in) brings a big jump in Spanish visitors and the start of the open-air season.
