Updated 15/10/2026 by the onbenidorm team · Opening hours checked October 2026

Benidorm's main shopping is in the Old Town streets of Calle Gambo, Martínez Alejos and Paseo de la Carretera, along Avenida del Mediterráneo, and at La Marina shopping centre in Finestrat, open 10:00 to 22:00 with Zara, H&M and Mango. As a tourist zone, Benidorm lets shops open on Sundays from 15 June to 5 January and over Easter.

    Where to shop in Benidorm

Benidorm has no big enclosed mall in town; Visit Benidorm describes the resort as an open-air shopping centre of more than 2,000 shops, and the chain-store shopping is at La Marina in neighbouring Finestrat. Shopping is also a handy rainy-day plan. This guide is part of our things to do in Benidorm hub.

Old Town and town-centre shopping streets

Visit Benidorm puts the main commercial area between Plaza Triangular and Avenida de los Almendros, on Calle Gambo, Martínez Alejos, Paseo de la Carretera and La Alameda, some of them pedestrianised. They are a short walk from the Old Town bars and Tapas Alley.

    • Avenida Martínez Alejos: a pedestrian street with sports shops, youth fashion, perfume, watches and trainers.
    • Paseo de la Carretera: shoes, jewellery and leather bags, belts and wallets. It also has the town's oldest pharmacy and Lottery Administration No. 1.
    • Calle Gambo: jewellery and clothes, and a large Primor perfumery at Calle Gambo 4, open Monday to Saturday 09:30 to 21:30 and on Sundays.
    • Ale Hop, a Spanish gift and gadget chain, has several branches in Benidorm for cheap presents.

Avenida del Mediterráneo and the Rincón de Loix

Avenida del Mediterráneo, one block behind Levante beach, is lined with clothes and shoe shops, souvenir stores and gold jewellers. Further east, the Rincón de Loix has boutiques, beachwear, gift shops and British grocery stores along Avenida Ametlla de Mar and Avenida Doctor Severo Ochoa, and its indoor market is good for souvenirs and holiday clothes.

    La Marina shopping centre, Finestrat

Barceló calls La Marina the most popular shopping centre in Benidorm and the Marina Baixa. It is at Avinguda País Valencià 2 in Finestrat, about 8 km from central Benidorm, and opened in 2000, with three floors of shops, restaurants and leisure over a free underground car park and a Shopping Park of six large units next door.

    Shops and leisure

Barceló lists Zara, H&M, Massimo Dutti, Mango, Stradivarius, C&A, Desigual, Guess, Tous, Swarovski and Pandora, plus El Corte Inglés Outlet, Jysk and Sport Zone; Primor is here too. None of the store lists we checked includes Primark. There is a cinema, a bowling alley and about 4,000 m² of children's play space, and the terrace restaurants offer vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes.

    Opening hours

The centre's information page gives shop hours of 10:00 to 22:00, Monday to Sunday, with restaurants open from 12:00 to midnight (to 22:00 on Sundays). Its FAQ says shops open on Sundays at Easter and from June, in line with Finestrat's tourist-zone dates, so expect some shops to close on Sundays between January and mid-June.

    How to get there

Llorente Bus (Avanza) line 002 runs from the Rincón de Loix along Avenida del Mediterráneo, through Benidorm Centro and Hotel Bali to the stop listed as Centros Comerciales. On 15 October 2026 it ran from 07:00 to 22:30, every 15 to 20 minutes in the day and every 30 in the evening; line 012 from Altea and Albir also stops there. Our getting around Benidorm guide has fares, and a taxi takes under 15 minutes.

    Sunday opening in Benidorm

Benidorm is a Zona de Gran Afluencia Turística (tourist zone), so larger shops may open on Sundays and holidays in high season. The Ayuntamiento de Benidorm's 2026 commercial hours notice sets these dates.

    • Independent shops under 300 m², bakeries, newsagents and convenience stores can set their own hours, so many souvenir and beach shops open on Sundays all year.
    • From January to mid-June, outside Easter, expect chain stores and supermarkets to shut on Sundays.

    Supermarkets

Mercadona's standard hours are 09:00 to 21:30, Monday to Saturday. In summer 2026 (22 June to 30 August) Benidorm was among the tourist towns where selected Mercadonas opened until 22:00 and on Sundays from 09:00 to 15:00, so check the store finder before a Sunday shop.

Lidl (Avenida Doctor Severo Ochoa 4) and Aldi (Avenida Doctor Severo Ochoa 35) opened in the Rincón de Loix in late 2024, and bus line 003 runs to the Carrefour hypermarket in the Finestrat shopping area. Our Benidorm prices guide lists typical costs.

    Souvenirs to take home

The classic souvenir is turrón, the almond and honey nougat of Jijona (Xixona), whose turrón has a protected designation. Confectioners across the province sell it, and some Jijona factories offer visits.

    • Chocolate from Villajoyosa, home of the Valor chocolate museum; see our Villajoyosa day trip.
    • Leather goods from Paseo de la Carretera, and shoes from Elda, the province's shoe-making town.
    • Paella magnets, or a paella pan to cook at home; our paella guide explains the rice styles.

    Markets

The big Mercadillo Pueblo, next to Hotel Servigroup Pueblo, runs on Wednesday and Sunday mornings, Foietes on Wednesday mornings, and El Cisne, an antiques and crafts market with live jazz, at weekends. Hours and buses are in our outdoor markets guide, and our indoor market page covers the covered option.
