St Patrick's Day, Wednesday 17 March

St Patrick's Day is Benidorm's biggest Irish party. In 2026 the council spread events across the week before, added a stage on Calle Bilbao near the Levante promenade and allowed amplified music from 12:00 to 20:00. The Shamrock has marked the day for about 30 years. The 2027 programme has not been announced; our Irish bars page lists where to go.

Holy Week, 21–28 March 2027

Easter falls early in 2027: Palm Sunday is 21 March and Easter Sunday 28 March. Good Friday (26 March) and Easter Monday (29 March) are regional holidays, as is San José on Friday 19 March. In 2026 Palm Sunday brought a morning procession in the Old Town and a 20:00 procession from Iglesia El Buen Pastor; the 2027 programme is not yet published.

What's open and closed in March

March is reopening month. Last season Zodiac, Valentines and Tommy's Bar were all back by early March, according to Benidorm Seriously.

Terra Natura: daily from 19 March, per taquilla.com; Aqua Natura from 27 March (unconfirmed on the official site).
Mundomar: open, per taquilla.com.
Terra Mítica: still closed; the 2026 season began on 15 May.
Aqualandia: closed until late May.
Beaches: the council reinforces lifeguard and cleaning cover over Easter, from 10:00 to 19:00 in 2023.

Is March a good time to visit Benidorm?

March is one of the best-value months for mild weather, though Easter week is busier and pricier because Spanish families travel too.

Families: Easter week works well with Mundomar and Terra Natura, but the water parks are still shut. See Benidorm with kids.
Groups and stags: St Patrick's week is the liveliest time before summer.
Couples: quiet weeks around Easter, with 12-hour days.
Over-60s: comfortable for longer walks such as the 7 km accessible Serra Gelada route.

Packing and practical tips for March

Pack something green for the 17th, a light jacket for evenings around 9°C, and sun cream for longer, brighter days. Book Easter accommodation early, as Spanish families travel that week. Benidorm in April is the next step towards beach weather.
