Who is Sticky Star?
Sticky Vicky — the Spanish performer María Aurora López — became a Benidorm legend for her saucy magic-and-props routine. Performed under the stage name Sticky Star; the act is billed as Benidorm's successor to Sticky Vicky's adult magic show. The performer's real name is not published, and the show is marketed only as Sticky Star or the Stickystar Magic Show.
The routine is a cheeky, prop-based comic striptease. It plays to the crowd's sense of disbelief rather than being purely explicit, and it is famous for pulling volunteers up on stage, which is why groups book tables right at the front.
Where and when it runs
The Red Lion is Sticky Star's regular home. It is a big British-style show bar in the heart of the Rincón de Loix with a full late programme, and Sticky Star performs two different shows nightly, typically at 9:45pm and 2:15am — the second is a different routine, so it is worth staying for both. Show nights change through the season, so check the table above, which pulls the bar's own listings daily and shows times in Spanish time.
Expect a full house in July and August and on bank-holiday weekends. In winter the act still runs, but on fewer nights.
Before you go
Adult shows are strictly for over-18s, and door staff can and do ask for ID, so carry a photo card or a picture of your passport. Phones are generally not welcome during the act; filming a performer without permission will get you shown the door. Free entry — no tickets. Buy a drink at the bar; some venues ask for a minimum one-drink purchase during the show. Shows run around 45 minutes to an hour. Sit near the back if you would rather not be pulled into the act — front-row guests are fair game.
Getting there
The Red Lion is at Calle Gerona 34, among the cluster of British show bars known as the Strip. It is a separate venue from The Red Lion 2 on Avenida Dr. Severo Ochoa. It is around ten minutes on foot from the eastern end of Levante beach, and most Rincón hotels are within a 15-minute walk.
Show dates on this page come from the venues' own listings and are checked every day, so if Sticky Star is moved or cancelled the table updates automatically. Times are always shown exactly as the venue advertises them, in Spanish time, whatever language you read the site in.
