Benidorm Hotel Entertainment

Here is what each offers and whether non-residents can get in.

    What hotel entertainment looks like

Most big Benidorm hotels have a show lounge with an evening programme: tribute acts, vocalists, bingo, quiz nights and, in family hotels, mini-disco and children's shows early on. The best hotels book the same tribute acts you see in the show bars.

    Can non-residents go?

Policies vary. Always ask at reception first.

    Hotels to know

    Families, couples and adults-only hotels

Shows usually finish by midnight, which makes hotel entertainment a good warm-up before heading out to the bars of the Rincón or Calle Gerona.

Family hotels such as the Magic Tropical Splash put the emphasis on children's entertainment, with mini discos, character shows and pool games, and quieter adult shows later on. Adults-only and couples-oriented hotels replace the kids' club with live music, cocktail evenings and cabaret.

If entertainment matters to your holiday, check the hotel's weekly programme before you book — some smaller hotels offer only a singer two or three nights a week, while the big resort hotels run a show every night of the season.

    What hotel entertainment includes

A typical week of Benidorm hotel entertainment includes a kids' club during the day, a mini disco around 20:30–21:00, a family show or quiz, then a tribute act, cabaret or live singer from about 22:00. Bigger hotels add themed nights — a flamenco show, a 'Benidorm's Got Talent' contest or a foam party by the pool.

All-inclusive guests usually have drinks included during the show; non-residents may be refused entry or charged for a pass.

    Hotel shows or bar shows?

Hotel shows suit families and anyone who wants to stay close to their room. Bar shows on Calle Gerona and in the Rincón offer more choice and later, more adult acts. Many visitors do both: the hotel's early family show, then a walk out to the bars.

If your hotel's line-up is quiet, the bars of the Rincón de Loix and Calle Gerona are rarely more than a 15-minute walk away — see what's on tonight for the full listings.
